Q3 Sales Jump 17.1% at 1-800-Flowers

1-800-Flowers.com Inc. reported yesterday that revenue totaled $157 million for its fiscal 2005 third quarter ended March 27, a 17.1 percent gain over last year.


The multichannel marketer of floral arrangements, gift baskets, gourmet foods and other gift items also said online revenue climbed 23 percent in the quarter to $91.6 million. Phone-order revenue increased 3.1 percent, reaching $52.4 million.


Recently expanded marketing and selling efforts let the company attract about 800,000 new customers, around 80,000 more than in the previous year. Orders from existing customers represented 57.8 percent of total revenue in the quarter versus 56.6 percent a year ago.
