ReleaseNow.com, an outsourcer of software applications, yesterday announced Preview Systems, an online distribution channel that allows Internet retailers to sell digital goods such as downloadable audio files.

Most of the offerings at www.releasenow.com are third-party distributions, however, Preview Systems is licensed by the San Carlos, CA, firm. ReleaseNow.com says e-tailers interested in adding music to their online stock would be ideal purchasers of the system; although, images and other documents are also offered at the site.

ReleaseNow.com signed technology-based deals with several software providers to build the system, which integrates security and digital rights management formats developed by well-known software firms such as Lucent Technologies, Microsoft Inc. and Intel Corp.

Price of the system was not disclosed.
