Pitney Bowes Offers High-End Printer to Boost Direct Mail
Because of W990's graphics capability, the printer increases the impact of direct mail and boosts mail "openability" by printing addresses and promotional messages directly on envelopes, postcards and self-mailers, the company said.
The system is designed for high-volume mailers.

The W990 can print in black or in spot color on material ranging from a 3.5-inch-by-5-inch postcard to a 13.5-inch-by-17-inch envelope. In addition, it can process up to 21,800 No. 10 envelopes per hour.
When used in conjunction with Pitney Bowes' SmartMailer address management software, the system ensures that mail is delivered quickly and accurately. In addition, this CASS-certified software makes a variety of presort methods available to companies to help them qualify for postal discounts.
As a result, when used with SmartMailer software, the W990 can print the appropriate delivery point barcode as well as address and presort the mail, and can enable mailers to qualify for work-sharing discounts of up to 25 percent.
