The Magazine Publishers of America, the industry association for consumer magazines, has announced 47 magazine launches for the third quarter of this year.

This is an increase of 34.3 percent over the same time period last year.

The categories these new titles fall into include lifestyle, the affluent sector, men's magazine, women's magazines and publications targeting African-Americans.

The biggest launches came from Conde Nast with Vogue Living, Meredith with JunkMarket Style, Sherman's Travel LLC with Sherman's Travel and Time Inc.'s SI Edge.

More information can be found on the New and Noted section of the MPA Web site at www.magazine.org. The section offers a detailed list of consumer magazine launch announcements.

The feature is updated monthly and lists the publisher, launch date, frequency and editorial descriptions. Magazines that have less than a quarterly frequency are not listed.
