*Privacy Council Teams to Offer CPO Training

The Privacy Council yesterday announced its partnership with the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University to offer a chief privacy officer training program.

The program is a three-day seminar, including topics such as management issues, privacy laws and regulations, and technology.

Also, privacy specialists will be featured at daily luncheons during the course.

"Leading businesses must have executives trained to manage complex privacy issues and build trust with their customers and employees," Privacy Council CEO Gary Clayton said. "This program provides an intensive, hands-on approach to give management the necessary skills to become effective chief privacy officers."

The first seminar will begin March 13. It will be offered again in mid-July.
