Priceline.com Europe to Launch in Fall
Priceline.com said yesterday it would begin offering its online bargaining service in Europe this fall.Priceline.com Europe, London, will operate as a separate company and will initially offer service in the United Kingdom. Web sites and operations in Germany, France and the Benelux countries, which are Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, will follow shortly after the British site with other European companies to follow within the year.
Former Burger King CEO Dennis Malamatinas, who stepped down last week, will head the new company.
Priceline Europe will initially offer airfare, hotel rooms, car rentals and long-distance telephone service.
