Precision Response Buys Online Training Provider

Customer-care provider Precision Response yesterday said it had purchased Avaltus Inc., a provider of online training applications, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition of Avaltus, Denver, will give Precision Response the ability to offer its clients online training functions and up-to-the-minute updates of training information available online. The service will be available through Precision Response's parent company, USA Networks, whose Electronic Commerce Solutions programs serve clients such as NASCAR.com and CBS Sportsline.com.

The online learning applications will be offered along with Precision Response's outsourced customer relationship management and call center services. Further details of the acquisition were not released.

In July, Precision Response purchased Hancock Information Group, a teleservices firm that operated two call centers with 350 employees in central Florida. Precision Response, Fort Lauderdale, FL, employs 12,000 people and handles about 230 million calls each year.
