Postmasters to Connect With Local Businesses

The U.S. Postal Service is starting a program that will reward postmasters for reaching out to small and midsize businesses in their communities.

The effort is an extension of the Customer Connect program, which was designed jointly by the USPS sales department and the National Association of Letter Carriers. Postmasters and station managers will create awareness and educate local businesses about the benefits of using USPS.com.

Postmasters can participate in a voluntary competition that runs from Jan. 17 to March 11, 2005. The goal is to contact 1 million small businesses in the period.

Postmasters will receive additional details in December and training materials in January.
