Poor Sales Force Chadwicks to Reduce Staff
Chadwick's of Boston plans to cut 300 jobs, 20 percent of its workforce, at facilities in West Bridgewater and Taunton, MA, during the first two weeks of May. The layoffs were blamed on declining sales.The company will first reduce personnel through a voluntary resignation program, with cash incentives and benefits continuations before moving forward with layoffs.
Chadwick's of Boston is a women's clothing and accessories catalog. Brylane Inc. acquired the catalog in 1996.
