Pollinate, new Oregon agency, launches

Two alums from Avenue A/Razorfish and Microsoft have formed a new interactive advertising agency, Pollinate Media.

Partners Levi Patterson and Ben Waldron have developed the new, Portland, OR-based agency with an emphasis on mobile and location-based marketing and interactive advertising. They have also partnered with independent agency Borders Perrin Norrander to provide full-service marketing to clients with real time reporting and measurement.

"By partnering with a longstanding creative powerhouse like Borders Perrin Norrander, we secure integrated strategy and creative under one roof without agency prejudices or bureaucracy getting in the way,” Patterson said in a statement.

Patterson, who previously worked for Avenue A/Razorfish and TBWA\Tequila, will lead Pollinate's account management, media and business intelligence departments. Waldron, who comes from Microsoft and Learning.com, will direct innovative efforts and technology teams to develop new ways to reach consumers.

“Too often, interactive companies are focused on building things in the digital space versus concentrating on the ideal places that brands should be, and why and how consumers might want to interact with them there," said Craig Rowley, president of Borders Perrin Norrander, in a statement. Pollinate Media brings “a mature approach that's refreshing in an industry that is growing quickly, but suffering from expectations that exceed results,” he continues.
