Pitney Bowes SmartMailer Improves Deliverability

Pitney Bowes, Stamford, CT, last week introduced mailing software that matches a mailing list against a database of addresses to improve deliverability.

The SmartMailer LT software verifies and corrects all addresses on lists that are stored on a user's PC. The software includes a CASS certified program and comes with a CD-ROM of all the deliverable addresses in the United States. The software matches addresses on lists with the CD-ROM and adds the correct postal codes. For ones that don't match, the user is presented a choice of similar addresses.

When used in tandem with other Pitney Bowes applications, the company claims mail processed with SmartMailer can be delivered by the USPS up to one day faster. SmartMailer can be leased for $300 per month and is compatible with Windows 95 operating systems.
