Pitney Bowes, MySoftware Expand Partnership

Pitney Bowes Inc. and MySoftware Co. are extending a strategic partnership that began last year targeting small business with a pair of joint product promotions.

Pitney Bowes, Stamford, CT, is making an offer in its September mailing of more than 1 million pieces that will give small business and SOHO customers who sign up for a 60-day trial of the Pitney Bowes Personal Post Office a bonus "Business Builder Pack."

The bonus pack is a CD-ROM that includes Pitney Bowes' Mail Marketer and MyProfessionalMarketingMaterials, MyInternetBusinessPage and Billing Solution from MySoftware, Palo Alto, CA. The CD-ROM provided a good enough lift in responses during a 300,000-piece test mailing this summer to be rolled out in the company's next mailing cycle, said spokeswoman Elizabeth Ghiloni. Pitney Bowes mails every six weeks using lists generated from the DPA co-op business database managed by Direct Media, Greenwich, CT.

Pitney Bowes also has designed a private label Web site for its DirectNet mailing service that users of MySoftware products can access via a hotlink included in its software. Users create mail pieces with MySoftware products then send the files and mailing lists to DirectNet for fulfillment.

DirectNet, which has been customized to accept all MySoftware file formats, can prepare a mailing up to 5,000 pieces within three business days. First-time users receive a free 100-piece mailing.
