Time Inc.'s People magazine struck a marketing deal with Student Advantage LLC, a provider of student discounts, to launch a co-branded card.

The product, called the People Student Advantage Discount Card, will sell for $25 for one year or $55 for four years. It will carry the same benefits of the standard Student Advantage card, plus a 20- or 40-issue subscription to People.

"College students are an important demographic for us," People marketing director Matthew Chang said in a statement. "We are excited to launch this targeted program and to introduce even more young adults to the magazine."

The deal also lets all Student Advantage cardholders can buy a 20-issue subscription to People for $20, which saves $49 on the newsstand costs for that number of issues. People costs $3.49 for a single copy on newsstands.

Boston-based Student Advantage has co-branded cards with Microsoft, Greyhound, Paramount Pictures and Amtrak. Other partners who offer discounts to Student Advantage cardholders include Target.com, Foot Locker, ArmaniExchange.com and Urban Outfitters.
