Penn Garritano Draws 3M, Others

3M hired Penn Garritano Direct Response Marketing, Minneapolis, to handle a direct marketing effort for its Post-it repositionable notes brand.

The agency will create and execute a campaign targeting brand managers and key influencers who make promotional marketing decisions. The goal is not just to create brand preference for Post-it products as promotional items, but also to drive purchase.

3M, St. Paul, MN, owns trademarks such as Scotchgard and Scotch-Brite, Post-it, Thinsulate, Filtrete, Command and Vikuiti.

Penn Garritano won two other accounts, adding to a portfolio that includes Pfizer Animal Health, Polaris, National Geographic, Medtronic and Toro.

Physicians Mutual Insurance Co. hired the agency to help with the launch of a cancer benefit for women that focuses on preventative screening and long-term care. The 102-year-old, Omaha, NE, firm provides health and life insurance services.

The other win was Marketing Architects, Minneapolis, as Penn Garritano is the new DM agency of record. Marketing Architects provides direct response radio marketing services. It places about 3.5 million radio spots across 250 station affiliates annually for clients.
