Patrick Honan, DM News Executive Editor, Dies at 43

Patrick Honan, executive editor of DM News, died Monday of an apparent heart attack. He was 43.


He joined DM News in 1998 after serving as senior editor at Computer Shopper, New York. Before that, he served as editor of the trade monthly Distribution Sales & Management, Great Neck, NY; the magazine Personal Computing, Totowa, NJ; and the Bayside Times and Little Neck Ledger, Queens, NY. He also worked as a freelance writer for various computer publications.


"We are shocked to lose someone so young, and our thoughts are with his family in this time of great sorrow," DM News founder Adrian Courtenay said. "We will miss Pat and his quiet competence."


Honan is survived by his wife, Patricia; his mother, Frances; and two children, Caitlin and John. Funeral services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday at St. Margaret's Church in Middle Village, NY.
