Pak Mail Offers Shipping Quotes via New Internet Service

Pak Mail, a packaging and shipping franchise, yesterday introduced a new customer service tool, Quick Quote.

Quick Quote allows customers to receive instant packaging and shipping quotes for any item -- no matter its size or destination-- from their personal computers.

The "Quick Quote" service is accessed via the Internet at www.pakmail.com and by clicking on the Quick Quote button. The customer enters an item description, destination, dimensions and value. The system calculates the customer's shipping charges and forwards the information to the nearest Pak Mail Center. The designated store operator in turn contacts the customer to arrange for pick-up of the item, if desired, or makes arrangements to have it brought in to that center for packaging and shipping.

"One of the major advantages of adding the Quick Quote feature to Pak Mail's menu of services is that we have all but eliminated the shipping dilemma and frustration created by the enormous increase in volume of Internet buying and selling," said Alex Zai, vice president, store operations and international development, of Englewood, CO-based PakMail.

"[With QuickQuote] our customers can conveniently go online, get their shipping quote in advance and even have the item picked up."
