Opinion Research acquires NWC Research in Australia

Opinion Research, an infoUSA Company, has acquired NWC Research, an Asia Pacific research company based in Australia, with offices in Singapore and Malaysia.

NWC Research will join Opinion Research's market research group, expanding the company's research presence in the Asia Pacific market. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition comes shortly after infoUSA's $41.6 million acquisition of Guideline Inc., which was announced on June 28. Guideline is a single source provider of custom business and market research and analysis. Founded in 1969 as FIND/SVP, Inc., Guideline services approximately 1,500 corporations in such industries as pharmaceuticals, financial services and consumer package goods.

"This acquisition makes perfect strategic sense, coming on the heels of infoUSA's acquisition last week of Guideline Inc., the premier single source provider of custom business and market research and analysis, " said Vin Gupta, chairman/CEO of infoUSA, in a statement. "Our clients want a global footprint and our goal is to build a truly international global market research business."

NWC Research's reputation is predominantly in customer-based research in the business-to-business, business-to-consumer and government sectors in both the Australian and global marketplaces. It has experience in the services, utilities, manufacturing, IT, and retail industries, as well as the rapidly growing tourism sector.

Greg Wayman, CEO of NWC, will stay with the company and report to Gerard Miodus, President of Opinion Research. NWC's existing management team will head up the combined Asian operations.
