Online Voters To Tap Animated Presidential Candidate

www.nationallampoon.com yesterday announced the start of a 60-day online voting process that, through a random assemblage of physical and personality traits, will jokingly nominate a cartoon to be president of the United States.

The Los Angeles-based Web site said viewers can choose between left or right-wing stances, Elvis Presley's or Marv Albert's hair and addictions or sexual proclivities before the April 9th deadline. The Internet site will put the candidate together after determining the most popular answers given to a set of half-hearted questions about his/her physical traits and traditionally divisive social issues such as the use of medicinal marijuana. A nationallampoon.com spokesman said the candidate would address political issues on Web casts and other promotions until the real-life election is held in November.
