Online Videos Capturing More Viewing Time

People are spending more time watching videos online. According to the Nielsen Online VideoCensus, the time per viewer spent looking at videos online jumped 49% in May 2009 compared to May 2008. 

Nielsen's research showed the number of unique viewers was up nearly 13%, total streams rose almost 35% and streams per viewer increased 19.6% in May of this year compared to May 2008.

YouTube was the top online destination by video streams, with more than 6 billion total streams during the month, and more than 95 million unique viewers.

Hulu , Yahoo, Fox Interactive Media and ABC.com were the other leaders rounding out the top five online video sites.
