Omnicom Unit Buys Mobile Marketing Firm ipsh

Diversified Agency Services, an arm of ad agency holding company Omnicom Group Inc., announced yesterday the purchase of mobile marketing services and technology firm ipsh.


The deal strengthens New York-based Omnicom's presence in the growing mobile marketing area. Terms of the deal were not announced.


Launched in June 2001, ipsh implements mobile marketing campaigns for clients across industries. Cosmetics marketer Elizabeth Arden and its Goodby Silverstein & Partners agency recently won an Interactive Advertising Bureau accolade for targeted SMS communications created for Britney Spears' Curious perfume brand. Ipsh supplied the technology.


Ipsh has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Francisco. CEO Nihal Mehta and chief technology officer Mike Jelley come with the deal.
