Omnicom launches China business unit

Holding company Omnicom Group said June 17 that it has formed a business unit to manage its interests in the Asia-Pacific region. Omnicom Greater China will support agencies in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan from its Beijing headquarters.

Serge Dumont will lead the group as vice chairman of Omnicom, reporting to CEO John Wren, the holding company said in a statement. Dumont previously served as Omnicom's SVP and president of Asia-Pacific, India, the Middle East and Africa.

Omnicom's direct and digital agencies include Direct Partners, Javelin Marketing Group, Rapp, Targetbase and Organic.
