Hi-tech gadgets were among the favorites of online shoppers, but traditional gifts such as toys, bathrobes and home décor followed close behind, according to CatalogCity.com's Best Sellers for Holiday 2000 survey.

CatalogCity.com, Monterey, CA, released its list of top 25 best sellers two weeks before Christmas. The site contains more than 200,000 products from more than 500 catalogs. Popular items included The Sharper Image's upgraded version of the Razor scooter with a price tag of $99.95. Bicycles for young children -- including Fisher-Price's Tough Trike and the Barbie Butterfly Trike, at $20 each -- were also popular. For older children, the Classic Erector Special Edition Millennium Set from the Spillsbury catalog went for $99.95.

Items that were popular among adults included monogrammed bathrobes, home décor and home entertainment gifts. Movies also played a big role: "The Grinch" calendar for 2001, at $12, and the "Charlie's Angels" Glitter Tee, at $18, were also popular items.
