OgilvyOne Worldwide appoints new president

Who it is: Gunther Schumacher, named president of customer engagement agency OgilvyOne Worldwide. The appointment is in addition to his current role as company COO. Four new board members were also appointed: Angel Chen, president of OgilvyOne China; Patou Nuytemans, chief digital officer for Ogilvy Europe, Africa and Middle East; Sam Williams-Thomas, CEO of OgilvyOne London; and Sean Muzzy, CEO of Neo@Ogilvy North America.

What's his role: Schumacher will help OgilvyOne Worldwide's global growth. He will work closely with OgilvyOne clients to help guide them through increasingly technological and data-centric challenges.

Where was he prior: Schumacher has served as COO of OgilvyOne Worldwide over the past three years.

Why was he appointed: “It has also become increasingly clear through his work on clients like Kimberly-Clark and initiatives like ecommerce that Gunther's mandate and capabilities extend far beyond ‘operations.' His appointment to President signals his increasing impact on clients and strategy,” says OgilvyOne Worldwide chairman and CEO Brian Fetherstonhaugh.
