Office Depot launches mobile program

Office Depot has launched its first national mobile marketing program, giving customers the opportunity to access store specials, sweepstakes and coupons from their mobile device.

Delray Beach, FL-based Office Depot'sámobile Web site is being powered by go2, which owns and operates mobile Web sites such as go2 Movies, go2 Travel and go2 Harvard, among others.

Using go2's location-based services, Office Depot's customers will be able to locate the nearest Office Depot store when visiting the site, wap.go2OfficeDepot.com.

"The mobile phone has become a huge medium for companies looking to gain a competitive edge in a crowded marketplace," said Lee Hancock, CEO and founder of go2, Santa Ana, CA, in a statement.

Every month, mobile phone users access go2's Mobile Content Network more than two million times and view more than 20 million pages of local information over web-enabled phones.
