Nutrisystem Members to Get Online Workout

Nutrisystem.com will introduce a three-dimensional virtual fitness trainer created by Pulse Entertainment this week.

Dr. Joe DiBartolomeo said the interactive, rich media virtual trainer will help demonstrate exercises and design a customized fitness plan that will be tailored to each user.

DiBartolomeo said the Web site already offers real-time, one-on-one weight counseling to its users, but this is the first time rich media has been used since it launched in October of 1999.

"This new service compliments everything we're doing," DiBartolomeo said.

The company will use its traditional marketing channels to spread the word about the enhancement, which includes direct e-mail newsletters to opt-in users, on-site advertising and affiliate marketing.
