Norway's Mobile Media Buys Overloaded

Norway's Mobile Media Co., a provider of personalized entertainment to wireless communities, said yesterday it bought Overloaded, a developer and publisher of video games for cell phones.

Details on the cost of the acquisition were unavailable. Endemol was the seller.

The purchase boosts Oslo-based Mobile Media's presence in the mobile gaming space. It also is designed to offer wireless network operators and online gaming portals access to a range of mobile games titles.

Overloaded develops mobile video games in Java, Symbian, BREW and i-mode technologies, focused on branded game efforts like FunkyCops.

Both business-to-consumer and business-to-business, Overloaded distributes its games in 23 countries through 42 wireless network operators like Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and 3.
