NM Direct Names Sharen Turney President/CEO

The Neiman Marcus Group Inc., Chestnut Hill, MA, announced Friday that it has tapped Sharen Jester Turney as president/CEO of NM Direct, the catalog division of the upscale department-store operator.


Turney, 42, most recently was executive vice president of Irving, TX-based NM Direct, with responsibility for all merchandising, creative production, advertising and public relations. She replaces Bernie D. Feiwus, who left to join a consulting firm.


NM Direct mails about 80 catalogs per year under brand names that include Neiman Marcus, Horchow and Chef's Catalog. The books, which total nearly 100 million in circulation. accounted for about $284 million of the company's $2.37 billion in fiscal 1998 revenues.


The Neiman Marcus Group's other divisions include Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman.
