Nissan North America distributes its first short film, "The Run," to consumers on DVD in late January at Nissan dealers and online at Z.com.

It also said yesterday that a two-minute trailer featuring scenes from the film is playing on more than 5,500 screens at 450 theaters nationwide and also can be seen at Z.com.

The star of the film, which is directed by two-time Academy Award winner John Bruno, is a 2003 350Z Track Model driven by stuntman Jimmy Roberts on a 6 1/2-minute run through the streets of Prague in the Czech Republic.

The film is still being completed and will be seven minutes. It will include information on the car including specs but will not contain pricing information.

The DVD also offers behind-the-scenes footage featuring interviews with the director and stuntman and a "Choose your own view" feature that lets the user watch full-length, unedited runs from eight camera angles.

Nissan partnered with The Designory, Long Beach, CA, and Creative Domain based in Hollywood to produce "The Run."
