Nicor, First USA in Card-Marketing Pact

Energy marketer Nicor yesterday unveiled a partnership with Bank One Corp. subsidiary First USA to market Nicor Platinum Visa credit cards to its customers. Nicor, Naperville, IL, which supplies natural gas to about 1.9 million customers in northern Illinois, said offers for the no-annual-fee cards already were in the mail. Consumers will be able to sign up for the cards either through the mail or by calling a toll-free number. The card will feature a 3.9-percent introductory rate, followed by a variable rate of 4.99 percent above prime. First USA, Wilmington, DE, is the world's largest issuer of Visa cards. It has about 2,300 marketing partnerships
