Nickelodeon Goes E-Commerce

Nickelodeon, a Viacom International Inc.-owned children's TV network, will add e-commerce with an online store for Nick-branded products this spring.

The Nickelodeon Shop on www.nick.com will be run by Nickelodeon Online and Global-QVC Solutions, a Global Sports Inc. division that offers outsourced e-commerce services.

It will sell merchandise based on Nickelodeon characters like Rugrats, Blue's Clues and Jimmy Neutron. The site, which also will offer merchandise exclusive to online consumers, also is expected to drive traffic to retail stores that sell Nick products.

Nickelodeon Online will handle creative direction and marketing. Global-QVC Solutions will develop and operate the store, with responsibilities for inventory management, customer service, merchandising, fulfillment and technology.
