Postal Service branch consolidation list down to fewer than 170

The US Postal Service is considering the closure of fewer than 170 post offices as part of its branch-consolidation initiative. The December 14 announcement means that the Postal Service, which announced a $3.8 billion net loss for its 2009 fiscal year, cut more than 70 branches from its list of offices awaiting possible closure since last month.
 

NFL launches concussion awareness PSA

On the heels of the National Football League announcing it will impose more stringent rules for teams to manage player concussions, the league has launched a PSA in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The PSA, which launched on December 10, urges players, coaches, trainers and parents to know the facts, symptoms and warning signs of concussions.
 

Search sites increase use of bargains, mobile this holiday shopping season

To take advantage of consumers' desire for bargains this holiday season, search-focused sites are beefing up their price-comparison engines with enhancements such as better images, more reviews and easier-to-find coupons. TheFind.com has debuted a search format that helps consumers more quickly find coupons, while Ask.com has launched a coupon deals feature. Google Product Search, meanwhile, has updated its capabilities.

The Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP) has launched an integrated campaign targeting the audience of 'The Ride,' a sports reality TV show starring high school quarterbacks. The campaign consists of homepage takeovers and pre-roll ads, highlighting the importance of protein recovery for teen athletes after sporting events and training, prior to each episode of the reality show.
 

Lescoja debuts e-commerce site MatteForMen.com

Lescoja, a men's skin-care company, launched an e-commerce site on December 7. The site, created in time for the holiday shopping season, has interactive elements and a CRM back-end built in, so that Lescoja can create customer profiles and remarket based on them. It was designed by Omnicom agency Unit 7.
