UK-based Markco Media promotes CouponCodes4U.com in time for holiday e-commerce

Markco Media, a UK-based media and advertising company, will launch a paid search marketing campaign on November 19 to promote CouponCodes4U.com, the US counterpart to MyVoucherCodes.co.uk. Previously the site was only promoted through organic search engine marketing.

According to a poll from the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council and InfoPrint Solutions Company, 41% of consumers say they would consider ending a brand relationship due to irrelevant promotions, and another 22% say they would definitely defect from the brand for that reason.
 

Lamps Plus plans holiday e-mail coupon effort delicately

For online retailer Lamps Plus, sending out coupons is a double-edged sword. The online retailer, which plans to send out a holiday e-mail coupon offer for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, has found that distributing coupons too often is not good for revenue. This holiday season, Lamps Plus is offering a coupon for $30 off of a $200 purchase to attract new customers.
 

ASPCA adds to database via pro-bono effort

Animal rights group ASPCA has added more than 1,000 e-mail addresses to its database since launching a lead-generation effort earlier this month. Lead-generation firm Pontiflex is executing the campaign pro-bono, after deciding to work on it instead of giving away free items at the Ad:Tech New York conference.

Pharmaceutical company Novartis launched a $200 million integrated ad campaign, which includes a number of digital elements, on November 12 for over-the-counter heartburn drug Prevacid 24HR. The effort's digital elements include online ads that drive consumers to the prevacid24hr.com Web site on targeted portals like WebMD, as well as Yahoo and other lifestyle destinations.
 

Bass Pro Shops hires Transaction Wireless for mobile gift card program

Outdoor retailer Bass Pro Shops has tapped mobile commerce and marketing firm Transaction Wireless to create its first mobile gift card program, which will go live in next year's first quarter. When the mobile program launches next year, consumers will be able to customize online gift cards by incorporating personalized text, videos and voice messages.
