Community management is a function that is gaining popularity in all types of organizations. This growth is driven by increased adoption of social media in businesses and the need for individuals to manage these channels. As that happens, however, there is a lot of friction due to lack of standards - not just technical standards but also standard expectations and understanding of what community management is and what should be expected of it.
During this session, Rachel Happe and Jim Storer, Principals of the Community Roundtable, will discuss The Community Maturity Model and define the eight competencies required for successful community management. You will also hear from Adam Zawel, XPC Community Facilitator at Palladium Group, who will discuss his role as community manager and how it relates to the Community Maturity Model.
During this session, you will learn how the community maturity model is:
- A tool for community managers to educate and set the expectations of colleagues and advocates within the organization
- A way to understand all the areas and skill sets required for community management
- A roadmap for community managers to understand what is important to do given their current state of evolution, and in what order
- A model over the long term to develop training
