Sharper Image replaces CEO

A CEO with years of multichannel retail experience is out at beleaguered Sharper Image and is being replaced with a turnaround specialist. Steven A. Lightman, who had been in the position for less than a year, has been relieved and replaced as CEO by Robert Conway, a founding member of Conway, Del Genio, Gries & Co., effective immediately.
 

Publicis reports solid 2007 results despite economy

Despite the uncertain state of the global economy, Publicis Groupe reported a 6.5% increase in revenue from 2006 to 2007 in its annual results report released on February 14. Publicis Groupe is the parent company of Digitas, Publicis Dialog, Publicis Modem and Arc Worldwide, among hundreds of other agencies in 104 countries around the world.
 

New scoring model helps target card offers

TransUnion and Edgar, Dunn & Company have released a new scoring model to help credit card marketers better target their offers. The Revolver Model is marketed primarily to credit card issuers, banks and other financial institutions that issue credit cards.
 

Google debuts Android phone system

The heavily rumored Google phone saw the light of day last week at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Spain, in the form of the new Android platform. Android is a software platform for mobile devices created by Google that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications.
