Sears cuts 200 positions

February 14, 2008

Sears Holdings Corp. has said it would cut approximately 200 jobs from its support center locations after a review of the organization. The news comes on the heels of other recent announcements such as CEO Aylwin B. Lewis leaving the company at the beginning of this month and that Sears would revise its organization structure and operational model.
 

Reputation rings in e-mail partnerships

As reputation has become an industry standard for e-mail marketers, more partnerships are being forged in the space. This week e-mail services firm Premiere Global Services Inc. teamed up with e-mail firms Message Systems and Return Path to aid in reputation services.
 

Citysearch, AOL team up for ad, content network

IAC's Citysearch and AOL announced today that they had struck a deal to share Citysearch's local content and pay-per-performance ad network with AOL's network of sites. "It's a win-win situation," said Chris Spanos, director of search verticals at AOL. "We get to provide a better user experience and improve the monetization of those properties."
 

Playboy posts Q4 loss

Playboy Enterprises Inc. posted a net loss of $1.1 million for the fourth quarter ending December 31, 2007, and an operating loss of $1.9 million for the same period, with major losses coming out of its publishing arm.
 

Outrider wins Yahoo Searchlight Award for Smirnoff campaign

In the midst of uncertain times, Yahoo hosted its fourth annual Searchlight award show in New York City on Tuesday with Outrider leaving the event with the coveted Yahoo Searchlight award. Following presentations by four agencies, the audience voted to award Outrider for its Smirnoff Ice and Smirnoff Raw Tea campaign, which took place last summer.
