Publicis Groupe's customer engagement agency, Rosetta, today announced the promotion of Alexander Mahernia to Chief Creative Officer. Mahernia has served as managing partner and executive creative director at the agency since its 2010 acquisition of LEVEL Studios, of which Mahernia was a founder.

Mahernia, a Direct Marketing News 2012 40 Under 40 award winner, will sit on Rosetta's operating committee and lead insights-driven creative execution, according to a company statement. He will report to Global Chief Creative Officer Lars Bastholm.

Bastholm's appointment was one of several senior management moves made by CEO Tom Adamski since taking the helm in April, and also included the appointments of Chief Strategy Officer Scott Sorokin and Chief Technology Officer Joe Lozito. Mahernia says it's all part of Rosetta's mission to become “The New Digital Agency,” which is led by three strategic efforts. “One is using true human insights to drive all our work,” Mahernia says. “The second is what we call Commerce Plus, having a transactional afterthought when telling the brand story. And the third is data-telling, putting tech behind the brand story.”
