News Byte: Heineken Names Teles CMO
Nuno Teles was recently named CMO of Heineken USA
Heineken USA today announced the appointment of Nuno Teles as the company's chief marketing officer. Teles will join Heineken's management team in March and report to CEO Dolf van den Brink.
“I'm honored and excited to drive the Heineken USA brand portfolio to the next level and be part of such a winning management team,” Teles said in a press release. “In this competitive beer market, to win with consumers, we need to challenge the status quo and aim to change things with bold moves.”
He joins the Heineken USA team after serving as CMO of Heineken Brazil for four years and growing the brand by 500% during his tenure. As a result of his successes, Teles was named the 2012 Best Marketing Professional by LIDE. Prior to Heineken Brazil, he held a variety of marketing roles at Heineken in Lisbon and Amsterdam.
“Nuno brings incredible passion, creativity, and drive to his work and he is exactly the right leader to take our portfolio of upscale, badge brands into the next phase of our growth journey,” van den Brink said in a press release. “I'm thrilled to have him join the Heineken USA management team.”
Teles, who holds an MBA from IMD in Switzerland, currently lives in Sao Paolo but will be relocating to the United States with his wife and four daughters in the coming weeks. He'll be based in Heineken's New York offices.
