News Byte: Gartner Retail Expert Joins eCommera as CMO
Kevin Sterneckert joins eCommera as CMO
Looking to expand its global reach, eCommera has appointed a chief marketing officer with deep retail expertise. The omnichannel data/commerce provider announced that Kevin Sterneckert, who previously served as research vice president at technology research firm Gartner, has joined the company as its CMO.
As the lead retail analyst for Gartner—as well as in his prior positions as senior director of global product strategy at Oracle Retail and as vice president of retail for DemandTec—Sterneckert gained a deep understanding of how retailers are overcoming the challenges presented by today's fast-changing market and ever-increasing customer expectations. “Kevin is an industry thought leader and authority who can amplify the eCommera brand worldwide to achieve our growth objectives,” eCommera CEO Andrew McGregor, said in a statement.
eCommera appointed Sterneckert to the CMO position on the heels of securing a $41 million funding round this past February. According to a spokesperson, the London-based company will be focusing heavily on expanding its footprint in North America and Europe over the next year. Current customers include Brooks Brothers, Clarins, and Neiman Marcus.
“Retail has undergone a profound transformation over the past few years, and will only grow more complex in the foreseeable future,” Sterneckert pointed out in a release about his appointment. “Those companies armed with the ability to solve cross-organizational and all-channel issues through Big Data predictive analytics, synced commerce platforms, and order management that exceeds customer expectations are those that will survive now and thrive in years to come.”
