Interpublic-owned agency Draftfcb Global announced today the hiring of Chris Shumaker in the newly-created role of CMO.

Draftfcb CEO Carter Murray said in a press release today that he anticipates Shumaker's “strong relationships with clients and consultants” as well as his industry experience will drive new business to the agency.

While at Publicis between 2007-2013 Shumaker spearheaded efforts that led to more than $100 million in “new business revenue opportunities.” From 1995-2004 Shumaker worked with The Martin Agency, helping it grow with clients like UPS, the American Stock Exchange and Kellogg's. Before that he headed marketing communications for Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex, Inc. in 1989-1995.

Shumaker said in the release he is looking forward to working with the business development teams of North America, in efforts to “further sustain the agency's momentum.”

Before Draft merged with Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) to create Draftfcb in 2006  Shumaker served as Global CMO for FCB Worldwide in 2006.
