News Byte: DMA Appoints Oswald VP of State Affairs

The Direct Marketing Association today named Chistopher Oswald as its new VP of government of state affairs. As such, he will serve as the association's point man among state legislatures on policy-making issues.

Most recently, Oswald managed lobbying activities in the western states for Reed Elsevier as its director of state government affairs. Before that, he served in a similar role with the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. His experience also includes lobbying Second Amendment issues and coordinating grassroots and electoral efforts at the state level for the National Rifle Association.

“As state policy takes on increasing importance in our government affairs work, we welcome Chris in his new role,” says SVP of government affairs Peggy Hudson. “He is a consummate professional with a great depth of knowledge and experience in state legislative and political processes.”

Oswald is a member of the California State Bar and served as a congressional aide to  former California Rep. Bill Baker during the mid-1990s.
