News America Marketing to run coupon insert in 'Journal'
News America Marketing's SmartSource Magazine coupon insert will appear in The Wall Street Journal in select cities beginning August 14. It is the first coupon insert to appear in the newspaper.
At launch, the insert will have a distribution of 630,000 in the Journal's weekend edition in 24 markets, including New York, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Denver. The two News Corp. units will roll out the insert nationally.
“We have found that coupons are used by families of all income levels, so the Journal's higher income readers are a very attractive addition to our network of newspapers,” said Paul Carlucci, chairman and CEO of News America Marketing, in a statement.
