NYC & Company, the official marketing organization for the City of New York, has launched a new $2.2 million campaign this summer to promote a new partnership program with American Express and offered to cardmembers this summer.

The NYC: The Real Deal Summer Fridays promotion offers American Express cardmembers an additional 10% off a variety of special offers and savings packages being offered around town when they use their registered American Express Card on Fridays through September 13.

The savings will be directly credited to cardmembers’ American Express account when they go to nycgo.com/summerfridays to register their card and learn about the special offers.

To promote the new program, NYC & Company will launch radio, digital and outdoor ads.

To help promote New York City as a family- and kid-friendly travel destination, NYC & Company has also lined up the characters of “Sesame Street” to become official NYC ambassadors. Muppets including Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster will be featured in ads online, outdoor and on taxicabs.
