New Software Offers Store-Specific Customer Data

The U.S. division of ACNielsen Corp., a market research firm in Schaumburg, IL, and Spectra Marketing, a Chicago-based supplier of marketing software, are jointly launching AIM/Localizer, retail marketing software that offers store-specific customer information. AIM is a syndicated database that provides information on consumer shopping at individual stores. Localizer identifies stores where a product is not reaching its potential and uses corresponding lifestyle habits to pinpoint consumers whose purchases would close the sales gap. ìNow, manufacturers and retailers can take the next step by determining the incremental dollar value of closing the gap between potential and actual sales by specific store, or even within neighborhood clusters,î said John Lewis, executive vice president of marketing at the U.S. division of ACNielsen.
