New Nickelodeon launch is kid hub

It's all about kid-created content at Nickelodeon, which is launching a new user-generated content site called Upickdaily.com. Young site surfers can share news, vote on polls and post their thoughts on topics from sports to TV stars. UPickDaily will choose the hottest kid picks and will check content regularly to make sure all posts are child-appropriate.

"UPickDaily gives kids an online hub where they drive the content and can tell the world about their pop-culture trends, events or anything that is top-of-mind," said Steve Youngwood, EVP of digital at Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group, in a statement. UPickDaily.com is part of Nickelodeon Kids and Family's portfolio of digital sites.

According to ComScore US Media Metrix, on average there were 131 million visits and 2.4 billion minutes spent at Nickelodeon digital sites in 2008.
