New Cognos Version Debuts

Business intelligence vendor Cognos, Burlington, MA, introduced Cognos Series 7 Version 2 yesterday, though the product will be generally available in early March.


Cognos Series 7 Version 2 offers data integration, reporting and analysis, event-driven business intelligence, visualization and score-carding capabilities.


Highlights include: projection capabilities, letting users project future values based on past performance; business activity monitoring, including details on information such as customer order history reports and performance against service-level agreements; and increased support for massive data volumes.
