Neustar this week named Silicon Valley marketing veteran Lisa Joy Rosner as its new CMO. The alumnus of MyBuys and NetBase has been charged with fueling growth and innovation at the company, as well as directing its brand marketing. She will report to CEO Lisa Hook.

Rosner's experience runs deep in the digital marketing business, having helped launch MyBuys as VP marketing and defining the personalized product recommendations category. More recently, as CMO of NetBase, she directed the developed new social intelligence products for Coca-Cola and Kraft. Rosner has been called upon by the business schools at Dartmouth, U.C. Berkeley, and Stanford to share her expertise as a guest lecturer.

“I believe that marketing has finally come into its own, that we have entered a Golden Age of marketing,” Rosner told Direct Marketing News. “Companies like Neustar can help marketers cut sales cycles in half and improve their companies' financial performances.”

As a result, said Rosner, marketers need to be more demanding and more discerning of their third-party marketing services providers. “What CMOs can demand of Neustar, what we are outstanding at, is having authoritative data for consumers,” she said. “Marketers today need to be spot-on with their first appeals to customers. They need to ensure they are in the right channel at the right time with the right offer.”

“Lisa Joy is extremely passionate about data, analytics, and 1:1 personalization, which aligns precisely to our vision,” said Hook. “I know she will take our brand to the next level.”
