NetCreations Provides Double Opt-In for 101communications

NetCreations Inc.'s PostMasterDirect service will build and manage double opt-in e-mail lists relating to the Internet technology industry for integrated media firm 101communications in a deal announced yesterday by NetCreations.

101communications, Chatsworth, CA, has a database of more than 1.5 million IT professionals who subscribe to its 10 magazines, attend its more than 30 conferences or use its digital offerings.

It currently has a single opt-in database of e-mail addresses of its customers who have subscribed online to one of 101communications' magazines or e-mail newsletters and voluntarily signed up to receive announcements about technology products and services in their areas of interest.

NetCreations and 101communications will build the new database by double opting in these customers. Through the partnership, double opt-in lists will be made available and selectable by nearly 90 areas of interest in these nine categories: training and certification; programming and development; IT management; Web services/e-commerce; data warehousing and storage; security; operating systems; software; and hardware.

New York-based NetCreations' PostMasterDirect network consists of more than 500 sources and more than 50 million double opt-in e-mail addresses, including more than 13 million business-to-business prospects.

101communications' publications include Microsoft Certified Professional, Application Development Trends, Federal Computer Week and Enterprise Systems.
