NetCreations Cuts Q4 Estimates

NetCreations Inc., New York, a provider of opt-in e-mail marketing services, expects to report lower earnings and revenues in the fourth quarter because of the slumping online advertising market.

The company said in a statement that net revenue for the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31 will be $12 million to $14 million, down from $14.2 million in the third quarter. Due to certain one-time nonrecurring charges, NetCreations anticipates that earnings per share will range from a loss of $0.04 to a loss of $0.06. Excluding the one-time charge, the company's loss per share will fall between $0.00 and $0.02.

"The marketplace continues to be a challenging one in which to operate, and as such, our revenues and earnings to date have been adversely affected by the decline in marketing-related expenditures associated with our e-commerce companies and other dot-com customers," said Rosalind Resnick, NetCreations' chairwoman/CEO.
