NetByTel Product Automates Catalog Requests

Boca Raton, FL-based NetByTel yesterday debuted its newest product, Literature Request, a voice commerce module that uses speech recognition to automate catalog and literature requests.

Literature Request allows callers to request catalogs by talking to the Web over the phone. The product uses speech recognition to process requests by interacting with the cataloger's Web-based e-commerce systems.

The product is already being used by Office Depot to fulfill its catalog requests. Callers dial a toll-free number, and the technology automatically determines the caller's name and address based on the incoming caller identification or spoken phone number.

Office Depot said it installed the technology a few weeks ago but has not tracked the number of users.
