Neiman Marcus Direct Taps ALC as Outside Manager

After 13 years of inhouse list management, Neiman Marcus Direct, Irving, TX, last week named American List Counsel, Princeton, NJ, list manager of its Neiman Marcus By Mail and Horchow catalog properties.

of NM Direct.


The files that ALC now manages: Neiman Marcus core catalog file of more than 260,000 12-month upscale apparel, accessories and home furnishings buyers; Horchow Collection file of more than 200,000 12-month home furnishings, linens, décor and culinary buyers; Horchow Home file of 27,000 12-month classic furniture and lighting buyers; Trifles file of 18,000 12-month contemporary home décor and apparel buyers; Horchow Universe file, which combines Horchow, Horchow Home and Trifles names and has more than 215,000 12-month buyers; and Grand Finale clearance file of 18,000 12-month buyers.


ALC is also handling the Neiman Marcus International and Horchow Collection International files of Japanese and Canadian buyers.


Selects on the files include geography, gender, recency, dollar, multibuyer and a number of product categories. Most of the buyers are upscale females 45 to 50 years old.


"We're very excited," said Lenny Medico, vice president of list management at ALC, "We're really looking to expand their existing usage into new markets and secondary markets and further solidify their presence in the catalog market."
